Harborview Marina sustained a catastrophic fire on August 31, 2005. 55 boats were damaged and 48 of those were sunk. Most of the boats were burned to the waterline.

It was rebuilt in 2007 and is now one of the nicest marinas in Gig Harbor. It is 1 of 4 covered marinas in Gig Harbor and there is only 1 other marina in Gig Harbor where boats slips are sold as condominium units.
